This is a rant, beware that I will talk a lot of nonsense.

First and foremost, allow me to thank the author of this wonderful trilogy, @Asherah ; thank you so much for sharing this serieswith us, I am glad to have this chance to discover you. On the same note, Iwould like to thank all the girls in my 逆闪闪 QQ group, for pointing me to Asherah'sstories, such as this series and 7 days.

I pick 深海xxx's mv for this rant as background music, highly recommend her mv. This one suits the series' mood on many levels though.

The first story in the series is "死局 Möbius Ring". I still remember how surprised I was the first time I read it; Asherah started out by graphic depiction of violence and death. Let's just call the first chapter a prologue. The author gives us a vague image of "what if". If we call Reverse and Flash are two faces of a coin, then what if there was only one left? I often ask myself that particular question, but I always romanticize the end goal, because if not then how could they get a happy ending for me to read? 

"死局" reminds me of Romeo and Juliet trope: Person A and B were supposed to be rivals; they had weird feelings for each other; person A died, and person couldn't live for far more longer. That being said, "死局", and in general the Deadlock series, are much more complicated than that. 逆闪闪 is a fucked up relationship. I read their fanfics a lot, but they often contradict each other as frequently as I change clothes. Maybe because I'm new to the fandom, or perhaps it is the result of the fact that one of my bestfriends [aka my EoBarry buddy] usually brainwashes me with her headcanon and such, but I am versatile, so I guess I will find my place in the fandom soon ::I hope::

EoBarry fucked my head-space up in several ways, which is annoying :ha: "成瘾 Addiction" helps me a lot in clarifying things up. Okay so I get that Eobard loved Barry in his own fucked up way, yet I still want to smack both of them upside their heads :facepalm: I enjoy feeling this angry and involving, which is another way to tell how messed up I am. Thatbeing said, there are several things I love in "成瘾". Mature Barry is like candy, sweet looking and tasty. Then it hit me, possibly as hard as it once hit Eobard, this Barry is not the young men of 2014 anymore. This Barry is knowledgeable, capable of lying and manipulating; he is calm, content and he is ready to pursuit what he wants. It also saddens me to see he getting mature in that way. There is a tiny bit in me blaming Eobard for that. He is Barry's mentor, Barry's idol; his Dr. Wells disguise is a charmer, and look what his "leaving" caused to Barry? [[and I know strictly speaking he is not fully responsible for Barry's changes, but still]]

On the other hand, I adore that part about Batman's flashback. You showed us another part of Barry, that Barry who said yes to Iris' proposal, who used to had a lovely wife to come back after being the hero saving the day. It all ended the moment young Eobard killed Iris though. The porn-with-feeling is like a gem. I know that, due to being brainwashed by my EoBarry buddy, the ideal outcome is they have sex while trying to kill each other, or try to kill each other while having sex, whichever come first doesn't matter. I did expect to see more about Barry's attempt to kill Eobard, but I think it is mainly because of my buddy [[crying because she is ruthlessly successful in brainwashing me]]

Also just want you to know, thanks to "成瘾", I was reading about both Endeavour model ship in Sydney and the Endeavour J-class yacht . Both are gorgeous though.

Amongst three parts in the trilogy, "A Normal Day 普通人的一天" is my favourite. Joe finally showed up and voiced his opinion, loudly. I agree with him, Barry deserved better than Eobard, imagine all the guilts and weight he had to carry in order to stay with Eobard. This last part, however, you managed to flip the table. 

I am listening to Sam Tsui singing Cure (Lady Gaga) and writing this rant. It's weird because I am fully aware that this ship is troublesome, even considered trash ship [[why else would I need a Cure for?]]. I thought I passed this phase a long time ago, those years I fell hard and painfully for enemy-to-lover trope. Then suddenly this happened! This explains why I usually justify Eobard's reasons for killing Iris, for killing Nora Allen, because I am a little piece of shit who love her family dearly, and gosh I hardly imagine I could treat my wife's, not to say my mother's murder, with "forgive and forget" attitude. Eobard in "死局" eased the anger in me and Barry. After all, an eye for an eye, I like him, but I wouldn't ignore the fact that he needs redemption. Meanwhile, Eobard in "A Normal Day" showed us that he did care, he care deeply for his Barry.

I thought about the infamous quote of Martial reading the whole series, "Nec tecum possum vivere, nec sine te." I can live neither with you, nor without you. But Barry needs his mentor, his lover, his Reverse, so sacrifice had to be made. The same is for Eobard, who would say that he entered this relationship without giving nothing up?

Yes, it is still a troublesome relationship. They may still destroy each other. At least this Barry caught his Reverse, this Eobard signed his own name on The Flash's heart though.

The only thing we halpless human can do is to enjoy the present, for who knows what future The Flash would mess up tomorrow?
